Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Broadcasting team is seeking a Content Producer/ Editor! This role is responsible for coordinating various aspects of broadcast production as assigned by the Television Director . The CPE will assist the broadcast production team in the preparation & execution of the game broadcasts as well as with various broadcast-related projects as assigned. The position has a strong focus on generating content ideas & editing materials for the broadcast.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.

  • Edit long-form and short-form content for Broadcast Television, including features, teases, bumps, player profiles, & game recaps
  • Collaborate with Pre-Game & Game Producers, Broadcast Talent, and Graphic teams to deliver polished content
  • Collaborate with other marketing divisions and content creators to ensure efficiency of concepts and continuity of approach
  • Work with the Basketball operations department on ideas and executions for content ideas
  • Bring a vision to build engaging content that works on multiple team platforms, including television, social media, YouTube, etc.
  • Actively participate in new content development, from ideation to creation
  • Stay ahead of trends in sports media and video production
  • Create compelling storylines and narratives around players, coaches, games, behind-the-scenes moments, and community initiatives
  • Collaborate with fellow departmental employees in day-to-day scheduling, planning, and development of part-time employees
  • Capture broadcast-quality video footage at practices, games, press conferences, community events, and exclusive season ticket holder events
  • Utilizing videographer skills (if applicable) on various broadcast shoots
  • Working with staff on assignment of and completion of broadcast projects & assignments
  • Attending and contributing ideas and feedback during staff & departmental meetings
  • Assistance with the completion of various broadcast department tasks as needed: (e.g., logging, compiling highlight reels, historical footage projects)

Responsibilities

The Content Producer & Editor will not have any “direct reports”, but is responsible for assisting the Executive Producer in providing guidance and leadership to the other employees (primarily part-time) in the department. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Providing work assignments for department part-time employees and interns
  • Participating in the selection and development of broadcast department interns

Education And/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or technical school. Very organized and detail-oriented. Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment while balancing multiple tasks at once. Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
  • Editing experience on Adobe Premiere or comparable editing software
  • Understanding of Media Asset Management systems, media tagging, and organization
  • Prefer experience as a videographer
