Job Description

CONFIDENTIAL - Seasoned Hospitality has been tasked with a private search to find a uniquely qualified finance / F & B professional. This individual will serve as Director of Finance for a multi-outlet F & B operation, situated within a luxury New York City hotel. 

The food and beverage department is operated independently, by a celebrity chef driven, high profile restaurant group. The company is rapidly growing and includes both luxury fine dining and casual concepts, that consistently maintains exceptionally high standards and a stellar reputation.

The candidate would report directly to the company’s Chief Operating Officer, while also interacting with the hotel and corporate finance team to achieve success. 

KEY SPECIFICS: 

  • The Director of Finance must have previous, similar experience both in a luxury hotel sector, and with independent, full-service restaurant operations.
  • Strong relationship and team building will be paramount to efficient communications and positive results. This will be key, not only with finance direct reports, but also front-line managers to ensure COGS / Labor Cost control and overall efficiencies
  • Strong knowledge of technology across accounting and restaurant management platforms including scheduling / payroll and inventory control platforms such as Marginedge, Craftable / Beveger / 7Shifts.

 

KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:

Under the direction of ownership, the Director of Operation’s primary areas of focus are to:

  • Lead all aspects of financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and capital planning.
  • Analyze operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue growth, and process  improvements.
  • Monitor financial performance metrics, implement corrective actions, and deliver high-level reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Day to day financial management including reporting, cash management.
  • Oversee relationships with banks, insurers, and financial service providers.
  • Oversee daily accounting, internal controls, reporting, and audit readiness across all outlets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory reports.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial requirements, including oversight of licenses, permits, and contracts.
  • Partner with department heads and hotel operators to guide fiscally responsible decision-making.
  • Facilitate collaboration with culinary, operations, and HR teams to align financial planning with broader business strategies.
  • Build and maintain documentation systems for AP, AR, payroll, reconciliation, insurance, and  vendor compliance (W-9s, contracts, etc.).
  • Manage legal and audit functions, including internal, external, and regulatory reviews.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting required.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 6–10+ years of progressive financial management experience.
  • Experience in hospitality or food & beverage industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing teams, audits, and financial systems at scale.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and accounting software (M3 preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-outlet environment with integrity and strategic vision.
