Job Description

Job summary:
As a Saw Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating saws to cut materials such as metal, aluminum, stainless or plastic, according to customer specifications and blueprints. You will play a key role in our production process by ensuring materials are prepared accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machinery such as production saw and cold saw.
• Accurately measure and mark materials for cuts, ensuring minimal waste.
• Examine and verify the dimensions of cut pieces to ensure they conform to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting on equipment.
• Keep an updated inventory of materials to be used in our estimating department
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operate material-handling equipment, such as a forklift or overhead crane, to load and unload materials (if applicable).
• Some driving may be required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math, including working with fractions and decimals.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to use measuring instruments such as a tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.
• Forklift certification is a plus (if applicable).

Physical demands:

• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to [50–75] pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
